Julie Mehretu (born 1970) is an Ethiopian-born American artist known for her large-scale, abstract paintings and drawings. She studied at Kalamazoo College and earned her MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design.

She has exhibited her works in major museums and galleries around the world, including the Guggenheim Museum and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York.
