The composition suggests a bizarre reimagining of the Edenic story, with butterflies hovering above them. This piece exhibits Mutu's characteristic combination of the beautiful and grotesque, forming a compelling visual narrative.

Mutu's work predominantly revolves around the female body, using collages, sculptures, and video works to create powerful matriarchal hybrid figures. These figures are composites of human, plant, animal, mechanical, and monstrous elements, often set in otherworldly landscapes. Her work investigates cultural identity, colonial history, the female body, and global consumerist culture. In her art, Mutu addresses a range of issues from colonialism to displacement, ritual, perceptions of Africa, and the eroticization of the Black female body. She frequently uses magazine cutouts from various sources, including African traditions, international politics, the fashion industry, and science fiction, to create her distinctive collaged figures.
